MARCH OF DIMES
The sorority has a proud history of offering service wherever chapters exist, including OPERATION BigBookBag, a program designed to address the needs, challenges and issues that face school-aged children who are educationally at-risk in local homeless shelters and extended care hospitals.
Other national projects include Wee Savers, Project Reassurance, Mwanamugimu Essay Contest, and Hattie McDaniel Cancer Awareness.
Sigma Gamma Rho also partners with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Africare, and St. Jude’s Research Hospital. We are proud of a recent partnership with USA Swimming, Swim 1922, which aims decrease the number drowning deaths in minority communities by offering swim clinics and water safety education.
On the local level, Epsilon Nu Sigma supports our national programs and partners with fundraising and service projects including American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Socks for Tots, Operation Big Book bag, Youth Symposium, St. Jude, and more. The Epsilon Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. continues to be a strong presence in the south suburban community of Chicago since 1981.
